INS Zoom App
Background:
INS Zoom is a case management tool used by immigration attorneys globally. Due to the mobile app being nonfunctional, I led research to assess the demand, use cases, and potential value of a mobile app for its users.
Problem:
INS Zoom is a case management product used by immigration attorneys across the globe. Currently, their mobile app is non functioning, hence I conducted research in order to figure out if a mobile app would be beneficial for the users of this product.

Initial Research
Wireframes
Final Designs:
These initial screens were developed to test the app’s potential and were met with positive feedback from multiple users. Insights gathered during this phase informed iterative refinements, allowing us to focus on the features and layouts that delivered the greatest value to users.
Problem:
The primary challenge was determining whether users would find meaningful value in a mobile version of INS Zoom. A key concern was the feasibility of editing complex forms and client data on a small screen. However, recent updates to USCIS’s online form submission process provided a valuable reference point, allowing us to model a mobile-friendly form experience that maintains usability without compromising functionality.
Initial Low - fi designs:
These were the initial screens used to test the potential of the app, which received positive feedback from multiple users. After testing at this stage, we were able to refine the screens to what would be most useful for users.
Users
Qualitative User Research:
“I feel this app allows me to be on the go as a case manager, without having to worry about needing to head back to the office to make document changes.”
“This will allow me to take client calls from anywhere and make live changes instead of being dependent on my notes app”
Results and next steps
After initial research, it was determined that users saw clear value in a dedicated INS Zoom app, rather than relying solely on a mobile web version. While additional research is currently underway to further define and finalize the app’s direction, I have since transitioned off the team and therefore have limited visibility into the most recent design developments.
